Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, has met with Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Afghanistan.
During this meeting, Muttaqi said that "kidnappers and usurpers can no longer violate anyone's rights".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the situation of human rights in Afghanistan was discussed in this meeting.
Muttaqi added that the leader of the Islamic Emirate encourages the officials of the Emirate to treat the people well and give them their rights during orders and in numerous meetings.
"Instead of criticizing each other, we need to work together, get the facts out there and spread any progress that's been made," the secretary of state told Bennett.
Muttaqi also assured about the improvement of the human rights situation in Afghanistan.
Richard Bennett, the UN Human Rights Rapporteur, whose mandate has recently been extended for another year in Afghanistan, warned about the human rights situation in Afghanistan a while ago when presenting his report to the Human Rights Council.
Bennett said that "Afghans are caught in a human rights crisis that the world seems unable to address."
Richard Bennett warned at the Human Rights Council meeting that Shiites and Hazaras in Afghanistan are facing "systematic" attacks that could be an international crime.
It should be noted that this is Richard Bennett's second trip to Afghanistan after taking office in the Islamic Emirate in the past year.
It has been said that Bennett had a meeting with Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday.
