UN envoy talks with President of Kazakhstan about Afghanistan
According to Office of the President of Kazakhstan, the President met with the UN Special Representative for Afghanistan. Comprehensive co-operation with the international community in the fight against terrorism and extremism, humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and the continuation of educational programs for Afghan students were said to be the focus of the meeting.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA), The two sides discussed cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Nations in the framework of international efforts to address the Afghan crisis, provide humanitarian assistance and restore the socio-economic situation.

Kazakhstan's President Qasim Jumart Tokayev has reaffirmed his country's commitment to continuing comprehensive co-operation with the international community in the fight against terrorism and extremism, providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and continuing training programs for Afghan students.

Debra Lines, UN Special Representative and Chair of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), met with Tokayev to discuss the outcome of the second meeting of the EU-Central Asia Special Representative for Afghanistan, held in Almaty yesterday.

He thanked Kazakhstan for supporting the UN mission in Afghanistan.
An agreement on establishing a UNAMA mission in Kazakhstan will be signed soon, the Kazakh presidential office said.
