The sides have not made any announcement that the ceasefire would resume after Eid.
Government sources told 1TV that there has been no decision for Afghan forces to take offensive mode.
Before the end of ceasefire, the government had urged the Taliban to extend the ceasefire so that delayed peace talks could begin.
Sources close to the Taliban, however, told 1TV that the group would not enter into talks unless their 5,000 prisoners are released.
The ceasefire, which was second in nearly 19 years of conflict, has seen Afghan authorities release about 900 Taliban prisoners.
