“Tomorrow, I will issue a decree for releasing Taliban prisoners,” said President Ghani, addressing the inauguration ceremony on Monday afternoon in Kabul.
During his speech, President Ghani said that “the list of the Afghan government delegation for the Intra-Afghan peace talks will be finalized by tomorrow.”
“This negotiating team has been finalized after extensive consultations and is made up of representatives from different walks of people,” he added.
On peace talks, President Ghani said that the future government is committed to providing a lasting and honorable peace and that to fulfill this dream, they need to have deep talks with the Taliban and its strategic supporters.
“As long as the Taliban and ISIS’s strategic supporters are not destroyed, there will be no lasting peace and the government will try to eliminate all excuses through deep negotiations,” he added.
