Disappearance of 2 US Marines in South Yemen
The Central Command of the US Army announced that yesterday, Friday, two of this country's marines went missing in the south of Yemen and near the coast of Somalia.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Central Command of the US Army announced that two sailors of the US Navy disappeared while conducting an operation off the coast of Somalia on January 11.

The media have reported, citing American officials, that two American Navy personnel have disappeared in the waters around Somalia since last Thursday, and according to the announcement of the American military, the search and rescue operation to find them is still ongoing.

The US Army issued a statement announcing that these two sailors were sent to this area "as the vanguard of the 5th fleet and to support operations".

The US Army has said that it cannot provide more information until these two soldiers are found.

The United States has a limited military presence in Somalia to counter the militant group al-Shabaab, an extremist Islamist group, and to train government forces.

It should be noted that in the last few days, the tension in the Red Sea and the coasts of Yemen has also increased after the US military attack on Yemeni soil.
