Herat earthquake; Sending operational teams and relief cargo of Iranian Red Crescent to the earthquake-affected areas of Afghanistan
The head of Iran Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization said: Considering the severity of the earthquake yesterday in Afghanistan and the needs of the victims, 10 rescue teams were sent from Iran to this country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Mahmoudi, head of Iran Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization, pointing out that on Saturday, October 15, at 10:11 Tehran time, the first earthquake of magnitude 6.3 on the Richter scale, at a depth of 10 kilometers, shook the northwest of Herat city in Afghanistan. , said: Due to the feeling of the earthquake in Razavi and South Khorasan provinces, operational teams were sent to the border villages for assessment, and fortunately, the earthquake in Iran did not cause financial or human losses.
 
 According to Mahmoudi, after the earthquake, the border provinces were informed and possible incidents were followed up due to the proximity of the epicenter to the borders of Iran and the feeling of the earthquake in Iran. Monitoring and follow-up of various aspects of the incident through various news sources by the EOC center of the organization, follow-up of the incident through the Khorasan Razavi EOC center and interaction and exchange of information with the Red Crescent Society of Herat city regarding possible earthquake damages, alert notification to the operational teams of Khorasan Razavi, Khorasan provinces South and North Khorasan for sending by land, announcement of readiness of the quick response team of the organization and the provinces of Qom and Qazvin for sending by air have been done.
 
He added: Today, 50 aid workers were sent to Afghanistan in the form of 10 operational teams from Razavi, South and North Khorasan Provinces and the Relief Organization.
 
Mahmoudi said: The relief cargo, including 500 relief tents, 1,000 carpets, 4,000 blankets, 500 sets of dishes, 500 10-day food packages, along with search and rescue equipment, search and rescue teams, was transferred from Razavi Khorasan to Afghanistan. The used logistics including 3 emergency vans, 6 aid vans, 3 ambulances and 5 heavy vehicles were sent to Afghanistan.
 
A strong earthquake in Herat, which occurred at 11:11:22 on Saturday, with a magnitude of 6.3, shook the cities of North Khorasan, Razavi, and South Khorasan, including the city of Mashhad.
 
The Herat earthquake and its aftershocks shook Mashhad 3 times and caused people to panic and gather in the streets.
