Kazakh companies are investing in Afghanistan
Officials in the Ministry of Energy and Water say that Kazakh companies have announced their readiness to invest in Afghanistan's electricity sector. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Trade says that Iranian, Russian and Pakistani companies have also signed agreements worth 1 billion US dollars for the production of electricity, the construction of the second phase of the Salang tunnel and the transfer of water from Panjshir to Kabul.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Maulavi Matiullah Abid, the spokesman of the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Islamic Emirate, told AVA reporter on Wednesday (July 19, 2023) that the representatives of Kazakh companies recently met with the Acting Minister of Energy and Water and announced their readiness for investment. .
 
Abed added that these companies are going to invest in energy projects and electricity generation from coal and water in Afghanistan soon.
 
Based on Abid's statements; The Ministry of Energy and Water, while welcoming this matter, has committed to provide all the facilities for the investing companies in the country.
 
Meanwhile, officials in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the caretaker government of the Islamic Emirate say that apart from Kazakh companies, some Iranian, Russian and Pakistani companies have also signed memorandums of understanding with the aim of investing in the Islamic Emirate.
 
Abdul Salam Akhundzadeh Javad, the spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, told AVA reporter on Wednesday that they have signed memorandums of understanding with Iranian, Russian and Pakistani companies, based on which foreign investors will be involved in electricity generation, the construction of the second phase of Salang, the transfer of Panjshir water to Kabul and They invest in the construction of Kandahar-Herat Kabul road.
 
Based on Javad's statements; the initial capital of these projects is over one billion dollars and soon the representatives of the contracting companies will come to Kabul to review the projects.
 
Javad pointed out that the Islamic Emirate has provided many facilities for domestic and foreign investors to invest, which has encouraged domestic and foreign investors and they are trying to invest in different sectors.
 
He also added that due to the inactivity of Afghan agencies in some countries, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has established a special office in Kabul airport for easy access of investors to Afghanistan visas.
 
Based on Javad's statements; Foreign investors can come to Afghanistan without any problem after issuing an invitation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and receive their visas inside the airport.
 
However, officials in the Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Emirate say that they welcome the expansion of trade exchanges with the countries of the region and the world and are trying to expand these interactions.
 
Dr. Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, published a video on his Twitter and said that the Islamic Emirate considers the expansion of trade exchanges with other countries to the benefit of all and is working on increasing these interactions.

The Ministry of Energy and Water informs about the interest of Kazakh companies to invest in Afghanistan's power generation sector. Two days ago, the spokesperson of Breshna stated in an interview with Ava reporter that Breshna is working on a five-year strategic plan for renewable energy for the first time. It is focused on producing 710 megawatts of electricity from solar and wind.
 
According to the statements of Breshna's spokesperson; This Company has also done preliminary work in the area of electricity production from coal, and in the near future, a contract for the production of 300 megawatts of electricity from coal will be signed with the private sector.
 
On the other hand, Maulavi Din Mohammad Hanif, Acting Minister of Economy, said in a press conference in Kabul two weeks ago that Afghanistan has a large capacity in the mining, construction and human resources sectors, and we can achieve self-sufficiency in many fields with a small investment.
