Football World Cup/ Qatar stops flights to evacuate Afghans
According to some sources, with the start of the football World Cup in Qatar, the flights of Afghan immigrants to this country and then to America will be stopped.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "NBC" channel reported this news on Wednesday, October 26, quoting refugee support sources, US congressional aides and a source familiar with the plans of the Qatari government.

Qatari officials have said they plan to halt flights evacuating Afghan refugees to the United States while the country hosts the soccer World Cup next month.

Sources have said that with the opening ceremony and the first match of the World Cup on November 20, the Qatari government has decided to temporarily stop flights to Kabul and suspend the issuance of visas until further notice.

Meanwhile, several thousand Afghans are now waiting to fly to America in refugee camps in Qatar, and thousands of other Afghans are living in misery in this country.

Yesterday, Fox News reported, citing US officials, that hundreds of thousands of Afghan citizens who were supposed to be transferred from this country, have not received any response due to the poor performance of the US State Department.
