Lebanese Parliament Speaker: Israel has informed the US that it wants the war to end
“Nabieh Berri,” the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament and Hezbollah’s representative in the ceasefire negotiations, said in an interview with the Al-Madin newspaper today (Saturday) that this time we can be more optimistic about achieving a ceasefire in Lebanon, because the US is serious and Israel has also called for an end to the war.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: “Nabieh Berri,” the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament and Hezbollah’s representative in the ceasefire negotiations, said in an interview with the Al-Madin newspaper today (Saturday): “This time we can raise the level of optimism [about the ceasefire], because the Americans are very serious and Donald Trump has given Hochstein (US envoy for the Middle East) the green light for a ceasefire in Lebanon.”
Nabieh Berri added: “Also, as we have learned from the Americans, the Israelis want the war to end.”

The Lebanese Parliament Speaker added that the agreement that the parties are discussing does not include any right for Israel to freely operate in Lebanon, as this is a non-negotiable issue and the Americans know this well.
Berri added that the negotiation process is still ongoing and Lebanon has amendments and ideas that it will send to the American side.
He continued: "Not only has the establishment of an international committee to monitor the implementation of Resolution 1701 and the dispatch of multinational and NATO forces not been agreed upon, but also the commitments regarding Resolution 1701, the start of UNIFIL and the Lebanese army to implement the resolution."
The Lebanese Parliament Speaker continued: "This agreement is inspired by part of the understandings of April, based on which a committee was formed to follow up on the agreements; a committee that, in addition to Lebanon, included Israel, the United States, France and the United Nations. This committee will be responsible for guaranteeing the implementation of the resolution, and there is no need to expand and add another country to it. Although the Americans tried to add Germany and England to it.”
Nabih Berri once again said that Israel would have absolutely no freedom of action to take military action in Lebanon, but on the contrary, as soon as a ceasefire agreement is reached, guarantees will be created to stop Israel’s land, sea and air aggressions against Lebanon.
Berri added: “America is Israel’s guarantor, and the Americans emphasize their position of support for Israel in both attack and defense at every opportunity they get.”
He also stated in response to another question about the escalation of Israeli attacks: “This is the way of the Israelis, especially Netanyahu. He thinks that by creating tension and escalating attacks and applying pressure, he can impose what he wants; but this will not happen and we will not be burdened. We are only adhering to what was agreed upon regarding the implementation of Resolution 1701.”
According to Fars, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament further referred to the recent visit of Ali Larijani, advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, to Beirut, and assessed the visit as very positive, saying that Larijani supported the Lebanese country, its resistance, achieving a ceasefire agreement, and implementing Resolution 1701, and emphasized Tehran's support and this country's standing by Lebanon.
