Fatal road accident for Pakistani pilgrims in Iran; 51 people were killed and injured
A bus carrying Pakistani Arbaeen pilgrims has been involved in a fatal traffic accident in the Iranian city of Yazd, officials said. The head of Iran's traffic police said 28 Pakistani pilgrims were killed and 23 others injured in the accident in Yazd province.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Iranian traffic police chief Sardar Sayed Timur Hosseini told ISNA about the incident of a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims in Yazd. At least 28 people were killed and 23 others injured when a bus collided with a bus in Yazd province.
"Minutes after the incident, rescuers and a team of traffic police officers arrived at the scene," he said. Initial investigations by Rahor police experts show that the main cause of the bus overturn was a technical defect in the brake/brake system and a high axle slope that caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and cause the accident.
"The Iranian police express their condolences to the bereaved families, but we still ask all drivers to pay special attention to safety tips," Hosseini added.

This is the third accident involving Pakistani buses on southeastern Iranian roads in the past week. The Iranian government has allowed Pakistani buses to transport Arbaeen pilgrims to the Chazabeh border with Iraq.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Naser Kanaani wrote in a message on X channel: "The death and injury of a group of dear Pakistani pilgrims as a result of the overturning of their bus caused us deep regret and affect. We express our sincere condolences to the neighboring and brotherly government of Pakistan and the bereaved families and pray to God for the high degrees of the deceased and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
According to him, the relevant authorities and institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran are seriously engaged in continuing relief, service and medical activities to the victims.

The Pakistani president also expressed regret over the road accident involving a bus of Pakistani pilgrims in Iran. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make all necessary arrangements to immediately address the condition of the injured and return the bodies of the victims.
