Holding the first meeting of the Supreme Council of Standards under the chairmanship of the economic deputy of the Prime Minister
In a newsletter, the Press Office of the Economic Vice-President of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the holding of the first meeting of the Supreme Council of Standards in Kabul and added that 24 standards were approved in different sectors in this meeting.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Press Office of the Deputy Minister's Office for Economic Affairs wrote in its newsletter that the meeting was chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhand, the Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and attended by Mullah Faizullah Tamim, the General Director of the National Standard Administration and private sector representatives was held yesterday in Marmarin Palace.


According to the news, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar said during this meeting that Afghanistan is taking the first steps towards economic growth and development and providing products and services based on national and international standards is necessary for regional and international competition.

According to Mulla Baradar; Standards guarantee the quality and credibility of products and productions for competition in national, regional and international markets and acceptance at the international level.

He stated: "Every standard that we approve and implement in Afghanistan actually helps the economic growth and sustainable development of the country."

Referring to the main activity of the Supreme Council of Standards, he said that the main task of this council is not only to introduce standards, but its main responsibility is to ensure the effective implementation of standards so that it can take practical steps in the field of the country's growth and development.

According to the economic deputy of the ministry; This council will try to ensure justice, transparency and the principle of sustainable development in the implementation of standards, according to the needs of the existing and future generations and according to a fundamental national responsibility.

Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar has also said that the effective application of standards leads to coordination in production, business development, avoiding additional costs and saving time. In addition, it will lead to the transfer of new technology from developed countries to Afghanistan.

He asked all businessmen and industrialists of the country to provide quality products to the citizens according to the standards approved by the Supreme Standards Council.

The Economic Vice President of the Ministry also asked all the members of the High Standard Council to carry out this great national responsibility with commitment, in a professional and sincere manner, and to share clear achievements in the future meetings of this council.

It is said that in this meeting, 24 new standards were presented for discussion by the technical committee of the National Standards Authority, of which 14 specification standards and 10 test method standards were approved after the discussion, and it was recommended to all relevant ministries and agencies that these standards adapt well.

According to the newsletter, these standards were based on priorities in the food, construction, oil, textile, chemical and plastic sectors, and in addition, three standards have been revised by the technical committees of the National Standards Department.

It should be mentioned that according to the decree of the Supreme Council of the Vice Ministers of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Supreme Council of Standards is to protect health and safety, guarantee quality, protect consumers, facilitate trade, bring together rules and standards and implement them and protect the environment.
