The US foreign minister
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit as Russia made advances in the Kharkiv region over the past few days.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Kiev on Tuesday, May 14, in an unannounced visit. This is the first visit by a high-ranking American official to Ukraine after the US Congress approved a $61 billion aid package to support Ukraine.

Blinken's trip comes to underscore US support for Ukraine as the country's military counters heavy Russian military bombing in the north.

A US official told Reuters that "Blinken arrived in Kyiv by train and hopes to convey a message of strong US support to Ukrainian citizens who are experiencing difficult conditions."

This official added: "The foreign minister's mission is how the United States can provide the items needed by Ukraine to strengthen the country's defense capability and take the initiative on the battlefield." »

The delivery of the US missile system known as ATACMS (ATACMS) to Ukraine was confirmed by Joe Biden. By having these missiles, the Ukrainian army can attack targets further away.

Meanwhile, despite the billions of dollars aid from Western countries to Ukraine, not only has this country's counterattack to regain the lost territories failed, but it has also lost more areas in the last few months.
