The International Labor Organization, in cooperation with other national institutions, held a ceremony celebrating the International Day of Safety and Health at Work and the International Labor Day in Mazar-e-Sharif.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Maulvi Abdul Rahim Qant, head of labor and social affairs of Balkh Province, said in this ceremony that according to the rules of Islam and the sayings of the Prophet (PBUH), we are all responsible for the society and the officials should take care of the affairs of workers and employees.

Maulvi Qant stated that I want the International Labor Organization to cooperate with the people and government of Afghanistan because our people suffered many problems and hardships and now the time has come to provide the people with the opportunity to learn the profession.

The head of labor and social affairs acknowledged that Afghan youths are forced to join illegal immigration and risk their lives, therefore the International Labor Organization should pay more attention to the employment of Afghan people.

He said that children, women and men are doing hard work in the alleys and markets for the lowest wages, and we should all join hands and provide them with work with decent wages.

Maulvi Qant added: The International Labor Organization should coordinate with the Department of Labor and Social Affairs of Balkh Province so that we can provide good services to the people, especially the workers.

He stated that about 2.4 billion workers worldwide are facing climate threats, and about 1.6 billion workers are working under direct sunlight, who are not protected, and everyone should know that every year more than 860 thousand people in the world die due to climate threats. They lose themselves.

Ahmadi added: "Afghanistan is among the countries that have committed to the procedures of the International Labor Organization, and we want the cooperation and coordination of the government of the Islamic Emirate with this organization."

Meanwhile, Mohammad Hossein Kamran, the head of Balkh province workers' union, said: We want to pay attention to the working class and a healthy work environment should be provided for the workers, because the safety of the worker's life plays an essential role in the success of the employer and the society.
