Ukraine under the heaviest Russian bombardment; Russian forces have attacked more than 100 places in 24 hours
Ukraine announced on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, that Russia had bombed more than 100 locations in the past 24 hours, the most in a single attack since the beginning of this year.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In a message published on social networks, Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said: "The enemy shelled 118 places in ten regions in the last 24 hours. “This is the largest number of towns and villages that have been attacked since the beginning of the year."

In addition, Russia attacked an oil refinery in Kremenchuk in the center of the country, which caused no casualties, but hundreds of firefighters were sent to the refinery to contain the blaze, according to Mr. Klimenko.

Ukraine and its Western allies fear that Russia will intensify its attacks on the country's energy infrastructure before winter, as it did last year.

Local authorities reported that one person was killed in Kharkiv region and one person in Kherson region as a result of night bombing.

The Russian drone attack left one dead and four wounded in Nikopol in the south of the country.

Ukraine's air force said on Wednesday it had shot down 18 of 20 Russian drones flying overnight.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced that it shot down two Ukrainian drones over the regions of Bryansk and Kursk on the Ukrainian border.

Zelensky: Ukraine's attacks have paralyzed the Russian Navy in the Black Sea

On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on Tuesday that Ukraine's attacks on the Russian Navy in the Black Sea have crippled Moscow's war efforts.

"We live in a world that gets used to success very quickly," Zelensky said in his video address. "When the full-scale invasion began, many people around the world did not believe that Ukraine would survive."

He emphasized that his forces have succeeded in reducing Moscow's military power in the Black Sea, which, according to him, could lead to Ukraine's final victory in the war with more support from Kiev's allies.

He added: "Ukraine's success in the Battle of the Black Sea will be recorded in the history books, although it is not talked about much today."
