Shooting in Germany left at least seven dead and several injured
At least 7 people have been killed and several others injured following a shooting during a religious ceremony in a church in the city of Hamburg, Germany.

The German news agency (DPA) reported that several people were killed in this shooting. The German police said in a statement that a "massive operation" is underway in the Alsterdorf area of Hamburg, which is one of the northern German cities.
 
Germany's Bild newspaper reported that the shooting happened at 21:00 local time, and during it, at least one person started shooting in a religious place, possibly a building belonging to "Jehovah's Witnesses".
 
The police said that the assailant is believed to be among those killed in this incident. According to the police, the lifeless body of a person who is believed to be the perpetrator of the attack was found. The investigation continues to determine the number of assailants.
 
Germany's Bild newspaper reported the number of people injured as 25. A police spokesman said that several streets were closed and people were advised not to approach them.

An eyewitness told the Guardian newspaper: "12 shots were fired...after that we saw some people being carried into black bags."
