Afghan Cricketers Hold Friendly Match after Long Break
Members of Afghanistan’s National Cricket Team held a friendly T20 match on Friday in Kabul as part of their preparation for upcoming international events, including World Cup T20 and a T20 series against Zimbabwe.
The match was held after a long break due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The 24 members of the national team have been divided into two teams, led by captain Asghar Afghan and batsman Najib Zadran.
The matches will continue for another week, Afghanistan’s Cricket Board officials said.
The selection committee will select the best players for upcoming international events at the end of the friendly match series, according to the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
The Friday match was won by Zadran’s team in the super over as the two teams were even with 62 runs.
