Will take input from Kabul meetings to Islamabad, Doha: U.S. envoy for Afghan peace

“Spent the weekend in #Kabul. Had the opportunity to meet with Pres. Ghani & CEO Abdullah a few times, as well as other political stakeholders. Particularly enjoyed my time with youth leaders and the townhall with Afghans from a cross section of society!” Khalilzad said in a Twitter post late on Monday.
The U.S. envoy further added “In all of these meetings, we discussed a range of topics related to the #AfghanPeaceProcess, including how we make intra-Afghan dialogue happen as soon as possible. Will take the input I received to Islamabad & Doha for my next round of discussions.”
This comes as efforts are underway to find a negotiated political settlement to end the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan.
The intra-Afghan dialogue which was due to take place on 20^th of this month in Doha was cancelled due to the controversies surrounding the list of delegates which was prepared by a governmental committee containing the names of 290 individuals.
