Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, The Earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred around 11:16 am local time, 35 Km south of Ishkashim, Tajikistan, with a depth of 31 km, according to the Indian National Center for Seismology reported on Monday.
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.2, Occurred on 26-06-2023, 11:16 am local time, lat: 36.43 N/71.48E, Depth 31 km, location: Ishkasim district, Badakhshan, Afghanistan.”
Earlier, a similar tremor of 4.6 magnitude struck Faizabad capital city of Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.6, Occurred on 21-06-2023, 6:25 am local time, lat: 36.51 N/71.28E, Depth 100 km, location: Zebak district, Badakhshan, Afghanistan.”
Recently, the frequency of earthquakes in the province has increased, which could be a matter of concern to the local people.
No causalities have been reported from the province as of now.
According to the seismological report, the province is the most vulnerable to natural disasters, including earthquakes, flash flooding, avalanches and landslides.
The recent powerful Earthquake of 6.5 occurred in March of this year in the Badakhshan province, Zebak district, where 13 people were killed and 100 others were injured.
