Moscow welcomes Syria
The spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry says that the decision of the member states of the Arab League to restore the position of Syria shows that this country is seeking to adopt an independent policy in the field of international issues. 
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the decision of the Arab League Foreign Ministry to return Syria to this organization by publishing a statement.

According to the TASS report, "Maria Zakharova", the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in this statement that the decision of the member states of the Arab League to restore the position of Syria shows that this country is seeking to adopt an independent policy in the field of global issues.

In the continuation of this statement, he emphasized that Moscow welcomes this long-awaited step and the result of which is the return of Damascus to the Arab family.

This Russian diplomat further emphasized that our assumption is that the restoration of Syria's membership in the Arab League, of which he was one of the founding members, will create a healthier atmosphere in the Middle East region and will facilitate overcoming the consequences of the Syrian crisis. 
Earlier, the spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "We believe that it is too early for Syria to return to the Arab League."

Zakharova also emphasized the correct decision of the foreign ministers of the Arab League and added that this decision shows the determination of the member states of the Arab League to implement independent policies on the world stage and strengthen coordination to resolve regional and international issues.

The Council of the Arab League held an extraordinary meeting at the ministerial level, chaired by Sameh Shoukry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, and discussed the developments in Syria and the issue of this country's return to the Arab League. A few hours later, the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmad al-Sahaf, announced that the foreign ministers of the Arab countries reached a consensus in their meeting in Cairo today, regarding the return of Damascus to its place in the Arab League.

The statement of the Arab League regarding the cancellation of the suspension of Syria's membership states: The participation of Syrian delegations in the meetings of the Arab League Council will resume from today, and practical and comprehensive steps will be taken to move step by step towards the solution of the Syrian crisis according to the principle of step by step.
