Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Portugal and parts of Spain have been going through difficult times, and Storm Claudia has also reached parts of Britain and Ireland.
Portuguese authorities announced on Saturday that the storm killed three people and injured dozens.
On Thursday, rescuers found the bodies of an elderly couple in their flooded home in Fernão Ferro, in the Portuguese capital Lisbon. On Saturday, a tornado hit the Albufeira region in southern Portugal, killing an 85-year-old British woman.
A tornado in southern Portugal injured 28 people at a hotel, with two of them in hospital with serious injuries, said Vitor Vaz Pinto, regional civil protection commander for Albufeira.
Storm Claudia has also caused flooding in Wales and England. Severe flooding hit the town of Monmouth and surrounding areas in south-east Wales on Saturday.
The Welsh Fire and Rescue Service said it was carrying out rescue, evacuation and welfare checks.
“Storm Claudia has caused significant flooding in parts of Wales overnight, which continues to affect homes, businesses, transport and energy infrastructure,” a Welsh government spokesman said.
Aerial footage showed widespread flooding in Monmouth, with the town centre and residential areas inundated after a nearby river burst its banks overnight.
