Quds Day; A Symbol of Solidarity of the Islamic Ummah and a Promise of the Victory of Right Over Wrong
View of the Day/ The oppressed people of Palestine have been suffering under the boots of oppression, occupation, suppression, and relentless killing of the Zionist regime for more than seventy-seven years. While the ruling regime tried to forget the Palestinian issue, the historic initiative of Imam Khomeini (RA) in 1358 AH, and naming the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day thwarted this conspiracy and kept the banner of justice high.
This strategic decision, which is rooted in the teachings of the Holy Quran, transformed Quds from a geographical point into a symbol of awakening, justice, and freedom of Muslims and all free people of the world. Today, not only the Islamic Ummah, but also millions of free people around the world, especially in Western societies, have stood up in support of the Palestinian people and in protest against the crimes of global Zionism.
On the other hand, the governments claiming human rights in the West, especially the United States and some European countries, have practically shared in the crimes of this regime with their political, financial and military support for Israel; an issue that has not gone unnoticed by the Muslim nations and the world’s enlightened people.
While the Zionist media empire has done everything in its power to cover up the truth and distort reality, the legitimacy of the Palestinian cause is becoming clearer day by day and the world’s public opinion has become more aware of the brutal nature of this regime.
Muslim nations, especially in Iran and Afghanistan, have always considered defending the Palestinian cause and supporting the oppressed as part of their faith and human principles. Despite internal problems, war, sanctions and various pressures, they have never lowered the flag of support for Palestine.
Today, as the genocide, displacement, and brutal killing of innocent Palestinian women, men, and children continues – especially in Gaza – the world is responsible. As part of the international community, we have a duty to be the voice of this oppressed people and defend their legitimate human rights. International pressure must be increased on the Zionist regime to end the occupation and achieve a just peace based on the right to self-determination for all Palestinians.
Supporting Palestine is not only an Islamic duty, but also a human and moral act rooted in the teachings of all divine religions. The Palestinian people have now realized that the only way to achieve their rights is to stand against the occupier, and Quds Day is a manifestation of this stand and global solidarity with them.
On this day, the cry of the oppressed people of Palestine is heard by the world; a day that holds the promise of divine victory and the final victory of truth over falsehood.
