The personnel of National Directorate for Security (NDS) or intelligence agency have arrested over a dozen terrorists over the past one week and thus foiled series of terrorist attacks, a spokesman with the body said on Monday.
"Fortunately we have captured 16 terrorists who had planned to carry out series of terrorists attacks in Kabul and foiled their vicious designs," Shafiqullah Tahiri said at a press conference here.
Affiliated with the Haqqani network, the terrorists were planning to target Kabul international airport, ISAF guest house, Supreme Court, national army base in Deh Zabz outside Kabul and some more installations, he added.
Haqqani network is Taliban' military wing, operating in the capital city Kabul and eastern provinces along the border with Pakistan's tribal areas.
The arrest took place after deadly attack by Taliban on a restaurant in the outskirt of Kabul on June 22 which left 19 people dead and injured five others.(Xinhua)
