At least 4 NATO service members were killed in separate explosions at southern Afghanistan on Saturday.
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force following a statement announced, “Four International Security Assistance Force service members died following separate improvised explosive device attacks in southern Afghanistan May 26.”
The statement did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationalities of the deceased soldiers.
International Security Assistance Force generally do not disclose identities of the NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan saying, “It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.”
Around 165 NATO service members mostly US troops have been killed in various incidents since the beginning of 2012 in Afghanistan.
In the meantime British Defense Ministry confirmed a British soldier from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh, has been killed in an explosion in Afghanistan.
He died in the blast while travelling in a vehicle in the Nahr-e Saraj region of Helmand province, British defense officials said. (Khaama)
