According to them, expanding the capacities of the Milak border and making greater use of the Chabahar Port will be the main axis of new Kabul-Tehran cooperation.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Kabul: Nooruddine Azizi stated on Saturday in Hirmand County, Iran, at the end of a joint meeting with Iranian officials: After ensuring security and establishing the territorial integrity of Afghanistan, the government intends to expand its trade with neighboring countries and the world and turn Afghanistan’s economic capacities into the axis of progress.

Chabahar and Milak; Two driving points for future cooperation
The Minister of Industry and Trade, referring to the importance of Iran’s transit routes, added: Chabahar Port and Milk Border are important capacities for increasing Afghanistan’s exports and imports, and if the obstacles are removed, our country can meet the needs of its 40 million people through this route.

He emphasized that Iran’s neighboring provinces and Sistan and Baluchestan Province should use these opportunities in the fields of employment, skill training, and investment, and that the agricultural, mining, and industrial capacities of the two countries should be fully activated.

Azizi emphasized: Afghanistan and Iran have provided the ground for the strong presence of private investors so that Afghanistan’s historic transit route through Chabahar can be active in a safe, competitive, and effective manner.

Commitment to increase trade from $100 million to $10 billion
The Minister of Industry and Trade, referring to the increase in Afghanistan's exports through Chabahar and other Iranian ports, added: Our country is committed to increasing the existing trade volume from about $100 million to $10 billion, and this route is being realized with the cooperation of both sides.
He described reducing trade time, making prices competitive, and implementing agreements as the main goals of Kabul's economic programs, and said: Programs should not remain on paper; they must be implemented in the field.

Chabahar; a safe and competitive route for Afghan exports
Azizi described the Chabahar route as safe, balanced, and competitive, adding: This route has provided the possibility of supplying raw materials to Afghan industries and exporting mineral and agricultural products to European, American, and Asian countries.

Appreciation of Iran's positions on Palestine
The Minister of Industry and Trade also appreciated the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the oppressed people of Palestine and said: Afghanistan and Iran both want peace and security in the international arena and will defend themselves if necessary. Islamic cooperation and brotherhood will strengthen the will and cohesion between the two nations, and all agreements will be implemented at different stages.
