Announcement of preliminary results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections
The Independent High Election Commission of Iraq announced the preliminary results of the votes of the coalitions and parties participating in the sixth Iraqi parliamentary elections after the fall of the Saddam regime, divided into different provinces of the country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Iraqi Election Commission announced that after the completion of the vote counting and reconciliation operations, the final official results will be presented to the electoral judiciary.
 
According to the report of this institution, the participation rate in the Iraqi national elections was 56.11 percent. Referring to the success of the election process, the commission emphasized that the electronic vote counting and reconciliation operations were completed in full (100 percent).
 
The statement of this institution states: "Our work was professional and impartial, and we managed to have an equal view of all candidates. Voters played an effective role in the success of the election process."
 
Four leading coalitions in Baghdad
In Baghdad province, the participation rate was announced at 48.76 percent. Based on the preliminary results, the four main coalitions leading in this area are as follows:
 
-Reconstruction and Development Coalition led by Muhammad Shia al-Sudani
 
-Advancement Party led by Muhammad al-Halbousi
 
-Government of Law Coalition led by Nouri al-Maliki
 
-Qawi al-Dawla Coalition led by Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim
 
The Iraqi High Election Commission has emphasized that the final results will be officially and definitively announced after the completion of technical reviews and handling of electoral complaints.
