Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to Sumaria News, Muqtada Sadr issued a new statement shortly after the end of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, emphasizing that despite the boycott of the elections, he never created any obstacles in the voting process. He added: "We are not seeking power, but rather seeking to save the homeland."
In his statement, Sadr noted that the responsibility for Iraq from today lies with those who benefited from the votes, and they are obliged to save the country from the current crisis and foreign interference.
He also stated that the winning parties in the elections must protect the Iraqi people from unregulated and illegitimate weapons and ensure that weapons are only in the hands of the security forces, including the Popular Mobilization Forces, and that no armed group operates outside the framework of the law.
Muqtada al-Sadr emphasized that the winners are obliged to protect Iraq from external threats and to protect the rights of the nation and the Mujahideen without surrender or harmful compromises. They must also fight corruption and expose related cases, otherwise, according to Sadr, "the arrow of salvation will hit the body of democracy."
Sadr finally warned that Iraq is facing internal and external dangers, and if the current situation continues, he and his movement will not remain silent in the future and will continue to call for reform and saving the country from the crisis.
