Protests in Hamburg against the killing of people in Gaza and Germany
A group of human rights activists in Hamburg chained themselves to a train track in protest against Germany's arms exports to Israel and the country's government's role in the killing of people in Gaza.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): A group of human rights activists in Germany, under the name "Hamburg Alliance for Palestine," chained themselves to a railway line in Hamburg to protest the country's continued arms exports to Israel; an action that aimed to draw public attention to the suffering of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

According to local media, about 40 activists participated in the protest and blocked the railway line leading to the port of Hamburg. This port is one of the main routes for German arms exports to Israel.

“We believe that civil disobedience in solidarity with Palestine is the right and moral thing to do,” said Yule Fink, a spokesperson for the organizing group, speaking to reporters at the protest site. “The Israeli government is committing genocide and war crimes in Palestine, and the German government is also complicit in these crimes by continuing to export weapons to Israel through its ports.”

“Why do the people of Hamburg allow their port to become a center for sending weapons?” Fink asked.

The rally ended with the intervention of police forces and the protesters moved away from the railway track one by one. Some port workers also expressed their sympathy with the protesting activists during the operation.

At the same time, thousands of peace activists gathered on the banks of the Elbe River in Hamburg, near the Landungsbrücken docks.
