Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued a press release saying that the meeting of ministers of the World Organization of Free Zones on the review of trade through digital solutions in the evolving world was held at the 11th International Congress of the organization with the presence of Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate.
In this meeting, which was attended by ministers, deputies, heads, and representatives of global and regional organizations, Nooruddin Azizi emphasized in his speech the fundamental role of free economic zones in economic growth, trade development, and achieving sustainable development.
In his speech, the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate referred to practical solutions for the development of special economic zones in Afghanistan and noted that the development of digital infrastructure, empowerment of the private sector, and coordination and strengthening of regional cooperation are among the main axes in this regard.
He also emphasized the programs of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to strengthen regional and international cooperation and called the role of international organizations important in their implementation.
In the continuation of this meeting, investment opportunities in various sectors in Afghanistan were explained to the attendees.
In this program, the participants also shared their views and experiences regarding the development of free zones through e-commerce and emphasized the use of new technologies to achieve sustainable development goals.
This meeting is held annually by the World Organization of Free Zones in different countries as an effective step towards exchanging views and experiences between government officials and global organizations at the international level.
