Yemenis are not giving up; Yemen’s third missile attack on Ben-Gurion Airport in less than 24 hours

4 Sep 2025 - 10:08

In less than 24 hours, a third Yemeni missile targeted Ben-Gurion International Airport, suspending flights; an airport whose continued operation is an exception these days.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Israeli army announced this morning (Thursday, September 4) that it had detected a missile fired from Yemen towards Israel, and claimed that air defense systems were trying to intercept the missile. This is the third Yemeni missile attack on occupied Palestine in less than 24 hours.

After that, Hebrew media reported that flights at Ben-Gurion Airport had been suspended again. An action that has become routine at the airfield these days due to daily missile threats from Yemen, and some consider the activity of this airfield to be an exception, not the other way around.

The Yemeni armed forces have not yet issued a statement regarding the nature of the missile fired.

Yesterday morning, Yemen launched a new phase of its military response to Israel's aggression and crimes in Gaza by firing two "Palestine 2" and "Zulfiqar" ballistic missiles at sensitive targets in Jaffa, announcing that the Israeli regime will not enjoy security and stability and that Yemeni military operations will continue with greater intensity in the future.

After that, the second attack took place in the evening hours of Wednesday night, and Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, announced that the country had attacked an important and sensitive target in the west of the occupied city of Jerusalem during an operation with a hypersonic ballistic missile of the "Palestine 2" type.

Earlier, the Israeli military claimed on Tuesday to have intercepted a Yemeni drone before it entered Israeli airspace, and on Monday to have intercepted another drone from Yemen. In both cases, security alerts were not activated.

On the day of the funeral of the slain prime minister and a number of his cabinet ministers on Monday, the Yemeni armed forces announced that they had targeted an Israeli oil tanker with a ballistic missile near the Red Sea coast.

After the assassination of the prime minister and a number of his cabinet ministers in an Israeli airstrike, Ansarullah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi threatened Israel with continued escalation without retreat or weakness.

Since the start of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, Ansarullah has continuously fired ballistic missiles and drones at Israel. There have also been dozens of attacks on commercial ships claiming to be linked to Israel. Sanaa has announced these measures in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

In contrast, the United States and Israel have carried out dozens of airstrikes on Ansar Allah positions in Yemen and residential areas in the country, killing dozens of civilians.
