The agency said in a report on Monday that $5 million had been allocated from the UN Central Emergency Response Fund to start the relief process and another $5 million from the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund to help the earthquake victims.

OCHA added that a number of countries have announced their aid and contacts with other donors are ongoing to attract more resources.

The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate announced yesterday that the death toll in the incident reached 1,411 people and 3,124 others were wounded.
