Maduro announces US military threat against Venezuela; protests against Trump escalate in the US

2 Sep 2025 - 9:33

The Venezuelan president announced that eight US warships targeted his country with more than 1,200 missiles, describing the action as a "criminal and bloody threat from Washington"; at the same time, the American people took to the streets to protest the policies of President Donald Trump.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Condemning the US threats, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said: Eight US warships have targeted Venezuela with 1,200 missiles; such a situation has never been seen. Venezuela is a peaceful country, but it will never surrender to threats.

These statements are made at a time when tensions between Washington and Caracas have intensified, and the United States has deployed three ships and more than 4,000 marines to the coast of Venezuela, claiming to combat drug trafficking.

On the other hand, opposition to the policies of the Trump administration is also growing within the United States. A number of citizens in different states demonstrated against the president of this country. In New York, protesters gathered in front of "Trump Tower" and, chanting the slogan "Trump must go now", demanded an increase in wages and an end to the "fascist regime" in the United States.

These developments show that the US government is facing protests and opposition at home, while increasing pressure on other countries.
