Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Jan Agha Navid, spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, in an interview with Ava, expressed ignorance of the extent of losses suffered by Afghan traders in the incident at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, and confirmed that Afghan traders were also engaged in import and export activities in this port.
This is while Shirbaz Kaminzada, head of the country's Chamber of Mines and Industries, has told some media outlets that the fire in Iran's Shahid Rajaee Port has also caused losses to Afghan traders. Pointing to the importance of Bandar Abbas as one of the key ports for the entry of Afghan traders’ goods, he also recalled the impact of the sanctions imposed on Iran, especially on this port, on the trade of Afghan traders. However, he emphasized that Chabahar Port was not subject to sanctions.
Kaminzadeh added that some of the goods of Afghan traders were present in Bandar Abbas at the time of the fire, but did not provide details about the volume and value of these goods. He also expressed hope that the goods of these traders were not damaged much, because they still do not have access to their commercial properties in this port.
