Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a press release today (Monday, April 28) saying that Maulvi Ahmadullah Zahid, the deputy minister of the ministry, and his accompanying delegation met with Afghan businessmen residing in the country as part of their visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is aimed at further strengthening trade relations and advancing bilateral economic cooperation.
The meeting, which was held at the Afghan Embassy in the presence of the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate to that country, Mr. Maulvi Zahid, emphasizing Afghanistan's transformation from an import economy to an export economy, said: Now the work processes and document procedures have been shortened and simplified, for example: a land applicant can submit his documents to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in about a week through the procedures and to the relevant authority.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade urged businessmen to invest in Afghanistan and that in any province where they want land, the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade will provide all-round cooperation.
He also urged Afghan businessmen residing in Uzbekistan to invite their Uzbek friends to invest in Afghanistan.
Subsequently, Afghan businessmen residing in the Republic of Uzbekistan shared their problems with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and announced their readiness to invest in Herat province.
Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Affairs, after listening to the traders, stated: We are trying to address your problems and we ask you to invest in the fruit packaging sector.
It is worth mentioning that yesterday, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade left for Uzbekistan, and the purpose of this trip was to hold talks with Uzbek officials.
