Afghan Voice News Agency (AVA) - Mashhad Moghaddis: In this process, 199 prisoners sentenced to imprisonment who were Afghan refugees and were previously held in prisons in the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan and Iranshahr of the Islamic Republic of Iran were handed over to the country's authorities.
The prisoner exchange ceremony was held in the presence of representatives of the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Justice and the prison organization of the two countries, and the transfer of the prisoners was carried out according to legal procedures.
Also, in this ceremony, two Iranian prisoners who were serving their sentences in Afghan prisons were handed over to the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On the other hand, Baqaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated in a press conference with reporters today (Monday, April 28) that the number of Iranian prisoners in Afghanistan is less than the fingers of one hand, and stated: "In order to support our citizens, we are following the situation of three to four Iranian citizens who are in Afghan prisons."
