Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The meeting was held today, Thursday, April 24, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and in the presence of senior civilian and military officials of Pakistan. According to Geo News, in this meeting, the internal and external situation of the country after the terrorist operation on Tuesday, known as the "false flag", in the Pahalgam region was carefully assessed.
According to informed Pakistani sources, India's actions were comprehensively reviewed in this meeting and the committee also examined strategies to respond to "India's hasty and impractical actions" in the water sector.
This comes while, before this meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan called the recent incident in Indian Kashmir regrettable and at the same time warned against any provocative actions by its eastern neighbor, saying: Islamabad, as a nuclear power, will retaliate against any Indian action in order to protect its national interests.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar considered India's accusations against Pakistan baseless and added: New Delhi has not provided any evidence or documents to Islamabad and is only accusing Pakistan, for this reason, Pakistan's National Security Committee will take the necessary decisions in this regard.
He emphasized: We will take every step to protect our territory and national interests and will retaliate against India's provocative actions.
This is while Indian officials accuse their western neighbor (Pakistan) of being involved in the attack on tourists in Kashmir. New Delhi also blames Pakistani militant groups for planning terrorist attacks in Kashmir and other parts of India.
The Indian cabinet also suspended the water sharing treaty with Pakistan and closed the official border crossing called Attari (the Wagah border on the Pakistani side). Pakistani officials have called India's suspension of the water sharing treaty an unjustified move and a violation of the commitments made in the treaty. India has also declared the military, defense and security attachés of the Pakistani embassy in India as undesirables and has asked Pakistani nationals to leave Indian soil within 48 hours. The military attaché of the Indian embassy in Islamabad has also been recalled to New Delhi.
