Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: On the occasion of International Quds Day, the Afghan Shia Ulema Council, in a statement sent to AVA News Agency, emphasized the status of Quds as a matter of faith and humanity and strongly condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime in Palestine, especially the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The statement of the Afghan Shia Ulema Council states that Quds Al-Sharif, the first Qibla of Muslims, is still under the occupation of the usurping Israeli regime and the policies of Judaizing this city are intensifying day by day.
The council emphasized that the cruel siege of the Palestinian people has deprived them of their most basic necessities such as food, medicine, water and electricity. In addition, illegal settlements, annexation of more lands and denial of independence and the right to self-determination of the Palestinians continue.
Referring to the US support for Israel and ignoring global protests, the Afghan Shia Ulema Council announced that the Zionist regime has committed genocide in Gaza, killing more than 50,000 people, most of whom are women and children. The council also pointed to the Israeli regime’s attacks on journalists and aid convoys and emphasized that these actions are against all international standards.
The Afghan Shia Ulema Council has also made the following demands:
1. Unity of the Islamic World: The council called on all Muslims and awakened consciences around the world to defend the rights of the Palestinian people in a unified and united manner.
2. Serious action by the United Nations: The United Nations was called upon to take more decisive action in implementing its resolutions on Palestine and preventing genocide.
3. Prosecute the leaders of the Zionist regime: The council called on the International Criminal Court in The Hague to seriously prosecute the Prime Minister and Minister of War of the Israeli regime for their involvement in the crimes in Gaza.
4. Sever relations with the Israeli regime: The leaders of Islamic countries were called upon to refrain from normalizing relations with the Zionist regime and to stand against this regime.
5. Responsibility of human rights organizations: The council called on human rights organizations not to remain silent in the face of Israeli crimes and to play a more active role.
6. Support for protesting students: The council expressed its appreciation and support for student protests in support of Palestine, especially in the United States.
The statement emphasized that the open genocide in Palestine and the shameless support of the West, especially the United States, showed that concepts such as human rights and human dignity are only tools for the West to secure its illegitimate interests.
The council called on all Muslims, especially the people of Afghanistan, to raise their voices in support of the rights of the Palestinian people in every possible way and fulfill their religious and human duty.
At the end of its statement, the Afghan Shia Ulema Council emphasized that supporting Palestine is not only a religious duty, but also a human responsibility that all Muslims and free people of the world must fulfill. The council also warned that the betrayal of some Islamic countries in normalizing relations with Israel will disgrace them in this world and incur divine wrath in the Hereafter.
