Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Coinciding with the arrival of the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, which has been named International Quds Day, the webinar "International Quds Day; Unity of the Islamic Ummah in Support of Palestine" was held on the occasion of International Quds Day by Afghan Voice Agency (AVA).
Dr. Mohammad Akram Azimi, a university professor and senior expert on international and political issues in the country, pointed out the importance of International Quds Day in this webinar, emphasizing that this day was named by Imam Khomeini (RA), just one year after the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, as a symbol of Muslim unity and global protest against the occupation of Holy Quds.
He added: "The purpose of this naming was for Muslims, as co-religions of the Palestinian people, to unite against the usurpers of Holy Quds and to demonstrate their unity."
Holy Quds; Historical and Religious Place
According to Dr. Azimi, Holy Quds has a high place in the history of Islam and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, which was founded by Prophet Solomon (AS), has always been of interest to Muslims. However, today this holy place is under the occupation of the Zionist regime, which has committed widespread crimes in Palestine.
He noted: "The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have accused the Israeli Prime Minister and Defense Minister as war criminals, because this regime has so far martyred 50,000 Palestinians in Gaza, most of whom were women and children, and destroyed 80 percent of Gaza."
Quds Day; A Manifestation of Islamic Unity
This senior political expert emphasized that Muslims should show their unity and solidarity on International Quds Day.
Dr. Azimi said: "International Quds Day is celebrated in more than 80 Islamic and non-Islamic countries, and this year, due to the brutal crimes of the Israeli regime in Gaza, we expect Muslims to participate in this ceremony with greater pomp."
He also considered the role of Islamic countries, especially the Islamic Emirate, in supporting Palestine important and said: "The Islamic Emirate, which is a religious system, has a heavy duty towards the Palestinian issue. Islam is a religion that opposes oppression, and Muslims are obliged to stand up against oppressors."
Practical solutions to confront the Zionist regime
Dr. Azimi considered one of the most effective ways to confront the Zionist regime to be boycotting Zionist goods and countries that support this regime, and said: "If Muslims boycott American, British, French, German and Israeli goods, it will be a huge blow to the economies of these countries. The capitalist system is built on profit, and if the 2 billion Muslim market is lost, the supporters of the Israeli regime will suffer."
The university professor emphasized that participating in marches, demonstrations and events related to Palestine, including International Quds Day, is a religious and moral duty of Muslims and can become a symbol of the unity of the Islamic nation.
Dr. Azimi concluded his speech by saying: "International Quds Day is an opportunity for Muslims to demonstrate their unity, declare their support for the Palestinian people, and stand against oppression. We have a great responsibility towards Quds and the Palestinian people, and we must defend this sacred cause with all our might."
