Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The statement states: “As we approach International Quds Day, the World Assembly for the Proximity of Islamic Religions, recalling the common ideals of the Islamic Ummah, emphasizes the necessity of unity and solidarity in defending Islamic sanctities and the rights of the oppressed Palestinians. In addition to symbolizing the unity of the Ummah, Quds Day is an opportunity to renew our pledge to the freedom-loving and justice-seeking ideals of all Muslims and free people of the world.”
Referring to the slogan of this year’s International Quds Day, “We are on our covenant with Quds” and “I am on the covenant or Quds,” the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions considered it a manifestation of an unbreakable commitment to the cause of Palestinian freedom and stated: “This covenant is not only a historical commitment, but also a religious, human and moral responsibility for all of us; a responsibility that calls us to support the honorable Quds and resist occupation and oppression.”
The statement, celebrating the resistance of the Palestinian people, declares: “The oppressed Palestinian people, inspired by Islamic teachings and relying on the spirit of resistance, have repeatedly proven that the only way to confront oppression is resistance and unity. We call on all Muslims, regardless of religion or nationality, as well as the free nations of the world, to stand by the resolute Palestinian people and express their support for the cause of Quds with a single voice.”
Invitation to participate enthusiastically in the International Quds March
In the final part of this statement, the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools has invited all scholars, religious leaders, intellectuals and Muslims of the world from all Islamic schools, including Sunnis and Shiites, to demonstrate the unity and solidarity of the Islamic Ummah in defense of the honorable Quds and the rights of the Palestinian people by participating widely and unitedly in the International Quds Day marches.
The statement ends with the central slogan of this day:
Long live Quds
I am on the covenant or Quds
