Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Whittaker spoke in an interview with Tucker Carlson, an American journalist and former Fox News anchor, about Trump's letter to Iran.
Trump's special envoy for the Middle East first referred to him as "one of the strongest" and then as "the strongest" person he had ever met. Whittaker claimed that Trump wrote that letter to Iran despite not being a weak person.
Analysts say that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the only country that has shown no leniency in the face of Trump's coercive policies since his first term as president.
When asked by Carlson what the letter contained, Whittaker said, “In that letter, [Trump] pretty much said, ‘I’m a president of peace, and that’s what I want.’” In recent weeks, Trump has said he’s open to dialogue and engagement with Iran, but has also unveiled policies that Tehran sees as eroding any possibility of diplomacy. “For our sake, I hope you get to Tehran,” Carlson told Whittaker. “I hope that I or someone in the administration will. It’s a little more complicated because this is a nuclear issue and we need an expert. It’s a little more complicated, but I think it’s going to start with someone on the president’s team, which could be me or someone else in the administration, but I would welcome the opportunity if I were involved.”
