Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: Mojtaba Alizadeh, an assistant to the Vice President for Science and Technology, told the Tasnim News Agency, "Next week, we will unveil the first demo of Iran's national AI platform, which is a major event that will certainly amaze everyone."
The platform will primarily focus on medical diagnostics and is set to be revealed at a special event. Alizadeh emphasized the country’s substantial progress in AI.
"A few days ago, news emerged that the Ministry of Communications will issue the first license for an AI operator," he said. "We are grateful to the Ministry of Communications for this valuable step, which aligns with the overarching architecture of AI."
In addition to the license, Alizadeh highlighted the recent AI-centered Telecom exhibition, expressing appreciation for the Ministry’s efforts in organizing the event, which underscores AI's expansive applications beyond communications.
Regarding recent AI agreements, Alizadeh pointed out a significant deal concerning the Persian Gulf. "A center for AI management in the oil industry will be established on Kish Island within a year," he stated. "An initial version of this center has already been implemented, managing two intelligent oil wells operated by Pasargad Bank."
He noted that this center will oversee the intelligent management of the entire country's oil and petrochemical industries, backed by investments from the Vice President's office.
"The Persian Gulf Holding is making substantial investments in AI infrastructure," Alizadeh said. "Many Persian Gulf countries will benefit from this smart oil and petrochemical management center, enhancing industry efficiency and generating significant revenue."
Alizadeh also announced plans to launch the country’s first GPU farm by late March or early April next year. "This facility will meet all domestic infrastructure needs, with substantial government investment supporting its establishment," he explained.
He hinted at upcoming international agreements, details of which will be revealed soon.
The unveiling of the national AI platform demo is expected to impress citizens, officials, and AI industry stakeholders alike. "This achievement reflects extensive efforts in the AI field, and we hope to attain more national and international successes as we continue on this path," Alizadeh said./Tasnim News
