Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): France 24 reported on Wednesday, January 15, that police arrested Mr. Yeol after entering his residence.
According to the report, hundreds of South Korean security forces entered his home to arrest Yeon Seok-yul.
The report states that his bodyguards allowed the police to enter his home.
The police had previously tried to arrest Yeon Seok-yul, but to no avail.
This comes after he faced a strong public backlash after declaring martial law following widespread protests in South Korea.
For this reason, he was impeached by the country's parliament and then his duties were suspended.
