Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi met with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus yesterday (Sunday) and discussed the most important issues and current developments.

 

In this meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister conveyed the warm greetings of the Supreme Leader and the President of this country and emphasized the continuation of the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in all-round support for the government, nation and army of Syria to fight terrorism and safeguard regional security and stability.

 

The Iranian Foreign Minister considered the recent movements of terrorist groups as part of a conspiracy by the enemies of regional stability and security, and an indication of the alignment of the terrorists' sinister goals with the United States and the Zionist regime in continuing to incite war and insecurity in the region and compensate for the Zionists' failure against the resistance front, and stressed that we are confident that Syria, just as it defeated terrorism in the past, will succeed this time as well and will overcome terrorist groups.

 

Emphasizing the continued comprehensive support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Syrian government and people and the resistance to confront the aggressions and attacks of the Zionist regime and terrorist groups, Araghchi described this strategic approach as aimed at protecting stability and lasting security in the region and supporting the security of all countries in the region.

 

Bashar al-Assad: We will fight terrorist organizations with all our might

 

The Syrian President, while appreciating the support of the Iranian government and nation and conveying his greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the President of Iran, praised the responsible and authoritative positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the stability and security of the countries of the region, especially Syria, against the ominous phenomenon of terrorism, and emphasized the importance of responsible and comprehensive efforts by all countries in the region to eradicate terrorism, from which only the enemies of the Islamic countries, and at the forefront of that, the Zionist regime, benefit.

 

Bashar al-Assad also described the visit of the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Syria in the current sensitive circumstances as very meaningful and containing a message of support and steadfastness of the Islamic Republic of Iran alongside the countries of the axis of resistance against the Zionist regime, and considered it worthy of appreciation.
