Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Senator Raza Rabbani, former chairman of the country's Senate, condemned the interference of representatives of the US Congress in Pakistan's internal affairs.
He said: America should understand that Pakistan is never a part of that country's states and will never be a client of its imperialist plans.
The Pakistani politician emphasized: The writing of letters by US senators about the political developments in Pakistan is a direct interference in our affairs and this violation of norms by the US must be stopped.
The Pakistani government's information and planning ministers also considered the approach of Western governments regarding the events in Pakistan to be illogical during a meeting with representatives of foreign media in Islamabad on Thursday and emphasized that Westerners should observe the realities on the ground without discrimination.
Referring to the recent unrest in Islamabad after the demonstrations of Imran Khan's party, Pakistani Minister for Development and Planning Ahsan Iqbal said: There was no armed confrontation between the security forces and the protesters and the government's main effort was to prevent any sabotage or bloodshed.
In response to the events in Pakistan, the US State Department spokesperson recently said: We call for restraint from the government and the protesters and we ask the Pakistani government to respect human rights.
At the same time, Islamabad has repeatedly reacted to the interventionist statements of Western countries, including the United States, and asked them not to interfere in Pakistan's internal affairs and political developments.
