Speakers at the scientific discourse titled “Media and Social Awakening: How Maulana’s Thought Can Be a Roadmap for Journalists” in Kabul say that the media is effective in spreading news and information in line with the unity of nations and the Islamic community. They add that the media should disseminate facts in accordance with the instructions of the manifest religion of Islam.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The scientific discourse "Media and Social Awakening, How Maulana's Thought Can Be a Roadmap for Journalists" was held today (Tuesday) by Rana University and the National House of Journalists of Afghanistan in Kabul with the presence of university professors, academic staff, cultural figures and journalists.
University professor Mohammad Ibrahim Zahid considered the media as one of the pillars of the government and said that the media should strive to publish reliable news according to the commands of Islam.
He also added that the media can be effective in the direction of unity of nations and the Islamic society by publishing news and information.
Sayed Yasin Matin, head of the National House of Journalists of Afghanistan, pointed out the important duty of journalists to tell the truth and said that the media plays an important role in identifying the authentic culture of Afghanistan for the world.
University professor Mustafa Aqli also said that journalists have a responsibility to take important steps in identifying and promoting national and religious values.
He stated that we do not need to follow a specific model, We should follow a Western model in the field of journalism, adding that academic staff of universities and journalists should express their unique views.
The university professor added: "Afghanistan needs a journalism that adheres to the national values ​​of the country and publishes news that is in line with the country's authority, economic and social development."
He also emphasized that journalists should reflect the thoughts of the great and famous people of this country, especially Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, and considered it one of the responsibilities of journalists to prevent the reflection of Western thoughts in the country.
On the other hand, Sayed Mohammad Baqir Kazemi, a university professor and media activist, said that the media and journalists should not disrespect anyone's personal and national life.
He considered reporting in Maulana's thought to value human life and said that journalists have a duty to prevent worthless and false news.
At the end of this discourse, the speakers pointed out the scientific, literary, and mystical status of Maulana Jalaluddin Muhammad Balkhi and added that Maulana's thought and thinking were humanitarian and philanthropic, which has kept Maulana alive among societies to this day.
