Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Sergei Shoigu, Secretary General of the Russian National Security Council, has arrived in Kabul at the head of a delegation to talk with officials of the Islamic Emirate.
According to the Islamic Emirate's press release, the Russian delegation has so far met with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Economic Minister, and Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Political Minister of the Islamic Emirate.
In a press release, it was stated that the Russian delegation discussed political relations, economic cooperation, increasing the level of trade and transit, as well as investment by Russian investors in Afghanistan in a meeting with Abdul Ghani Baradar.
It was stated that members of the Islamic Emirate cabinet, including the acting Minister of Industry and Trade and the Minister of Economy, were present in this meeting.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said in this meeting that with the return of security and stability to Afghanistan, this country has become a center for economic cooperation, trade and transit in the region, which is not only in the interest of Afghanistan, but also in the interest of the region.
According to a press release from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, he said that the Islamic Emirate is working for the security and economic growth of Afghanistan and for this purpose has banned the cultivation of narcotics and eliminated all groups that harm the security and economy of Afghanistan and the region.
Also, in the press release of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian National Security Council, said that he came to Kabul on the orders of Vladimir Putin.
According to the press release, Shoigu said that Russia is interested in increasing the level of cooperation in bilateral relations with Afghanistan.
He added that in the near future, the name of the Islamic Emirate will be removed from Russia’s blacklist for the development of political and economic relations.
According to the press release of Mullah Baradar’s office, the Russian delegation has announced its support for the Afghan-Trans-Afghan railway project.
According to the press release, the Russian delegation said that Russia is ready to start practical economic cooperation with Afghanistan during the St. Petersburg Economic Summit. Russian investors and state-owned companies are also interested in investing in mines, transport and agriculture in Afghanistan.
On the other hand, Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, also said in a press release published on X that Sergei Shoigu also met with Maulvi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister for Politics.
It is said that some officials of the Islamic Emirate, including Abdul Haq Wasiq, the head of intelligence, Fasihuddin Fitrat, the chief of staff of the army, and the deputies of the interior and foreign ministries of the country, were also present in the meeting, which was held at the Sepidar Palace.
Fitrat said that the Russian delegation also said in the meeting with Maulvi Abdul Kabir that Russia wants to expand trade and economic relations between Moscow and Kabul.
According to the news release, Shoigu said that Russia wants Afghanistan to regain its seat as an observer member in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The news release also states that Alexei Averchuk, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, who came to Kabul as part of the Russian delegation, said that Moscow and Kabul have good opportunities for expanding cooperation and relations.
While emphasizing the development of trade between the two countries, he said that Moscow will reduce or eliminate customs tariffs on Afghan exports.
The Russian official suggested that his country is ready to sign a cooperation agreement with Afghanistan in the transport sector.
On the other hand, Maulvi Abdul Kabir said in the meeting that the Russian delegation’s visit to Kabul indicates positive relations between Kabul and Moscow.
He praised Russia’s “positive position and its support for Afghanistan’s position in international forums” and said that Afghanistan is interested in expanding relations and interaction with Russia in various fields.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Politics said that the Islamic Emirate considers the national interests, security, stability and economic growth of Afghanistan to be linked to the security, stability and prosperity of the region. He added that the Islamic Emirate wants to have a meaningful presence in regional formats as a responsible system and work closely with regional countries.
He added that the Islamic Emirate does not allow the use of Afghan soil against anyone.
Maulvi Abdul Kabir stated that with the rule of the Islamic Emirate, overall security has been ensured in Afghanistan, ISIS has been suppressed and bullying, usurpation, crime and drugs have been eliminated.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Politics said that the Islamic Emirate does not want war in any country, but rather, “for the sake of the progress and stability of the region, we need to cooperate with each other and reach an agreement through dialogue instead of confrontation.”
On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense of the country announced in a press release that Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, the acting minister of the ministry, met with a Russian delegation headed by Sergei Shoigu, Secretary General of the Russian Security Council.
The press release states that Mujahid welcomed Russia's efforts to remove the Islamic Emirate's name from the blacklist and strengthen bilateral relations during the meeting.
According to the press release, the Russian side also praised the efforts of the Islamic Emirate, especially the Ministry of Defense, to "ensure security and establish stability."
It is worth noting that yesterday, Zamir Kabulov, the special representative for Afghanistan affairs, announced the visit of a high-ranking delegation from this country to Afghanistan in the near future.
