The EU foreign policy chief in a speech considered European countries obligated to execute the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court in The Hague against Zionist officials and emphasized that there is no right to choose in this regard.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the German newspaper "Handelsblatt", "Joseph Borrell", the EU foreign policy chief, emphasized in a speech that EU member states cannot decide whether to execute the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court or not.
While attending a training workshop for Israeli and Palestinian peace activists in Cyprus, Borrell said: "Countries that have signed the Rome Convention are obligated to implement the decision of this court.
The criminal court recently issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Israeli regime, and Yoav Gallant, the regime's former Minister of War, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
The German federal government and other European countries believe that the execution of this arrest warrant is hardly conceivable.
Borrell stressed that countries that want to join the European Union are also obliged to comply with these obligations.
The senior EU diplomat also said: It would be ridiculous for new entrants to have an obligation that current members do not comply with.
The United States has rejected the decision of the International Criminal Court to arrest these Zionist officials, and Tel Aviv has called the Hague court's ruling "anti-Semitic."
Borrell also said: Every time someone disagrees with Israeli policy, they are accused of anti-Semitism.
In his speech, the EU foreign policy chief also called for a ceasefire in the Middle East and the implementation of the two-state solution for Palestine (a solution that recognizes the permanent occupation of Palestine).
Borrell traveled to Cyprus yesterday to meet with Israeli and Palestinian civil society organizations (PA) that promote a two-state solution, known as the Geneva Initiative.
He said in a speech: "The price of the lack of peace in the Middle East has become high not only for the people who are dying under the bombs, but for the entire region and perhaps the entire world."
After Cyprus, Borrell will travel to Lebanon on Sunday to hold bilateral talks with some of the country's politicians as well as UN representatives.
In response to the Zionist regime's attacks on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, "Joseph Borrell," the EU's foreign policy chief, had recently also called for the suspension of regular political dialogue with the regime.
He presented this proposal to the EU member states at a meeting of foreign ministers, which, of course, was not approved due to a lack of agreement on this matter.
The suspension of political dialogue requires consensus among member states. Meanwhile, the war, violence, and bloodshed of the Zionist occupation regime in Gaza and Lebanon continue.
Israel has been repeatedly criticized for obstructing the work of UN aid workers and the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
