Pakistan's latest indigenous tank "Haider" was displayed at the "Ideas 2024" exhibition
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The 12th Pakistan International Arms Exhibition, known as "Ideas 2024", opened in Karachi with the participation of 55 countries, including a delegation from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The opening ceremony of the largest arms and defense industries exhibition was held on Tuesday at the Karachi International Exhibition Center, the capital of Sindh province in the south of the country, with the presence of Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and the heads of participating delegations.
The slogan of this year's Ideas exhibition is "Weapons for Peace; Global Cooperation and Strategic Partnership", which is being organized by the Defense Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) of Pakistan, and many leading countries in the field of defense production and military equipment will participate in it.
This international event, which was held every two years, was canceled in 2020 due to the Corona pandemic.
The first edition of the Pakistan International Arms Exhibition was held in 2000.
Pakistan unveiled a new tank named Haider at this exhibition, which attracted attention with its specifications.
The Haider tank is the most advanced tank produced by the Pakistani army, which was displayed at the IDEAS 2024 defense exhibition, attended by military delegations from different countries.
This tank is equipped with a 125 mm machine gun and a powerful engine made in China. The Haider tank can be equipped with nuclear weapons and various advanced weapons, including anti-aircraft and rocket launchers.
The Haider tank was designed and manufactured by the state-owned Taxila Heavy Industries (HIT) of Pakistan, which, thanks to the modern technologies used in this armored vehicle, can help the Pakistani army in various fields. Protecting soldiers and ensuring their safety is said to be one of the main tasks of the Haider tank.
After the Al-Darrar and Al-Khalid tanks, Pakistan Defense Industries unveiled a new advanced tank named "Haider".
The Haider tank has attracted the attention of participants in the Pakistan Defense Exhibition in Karachi, and many countries are interested in purchasing this advanced tank.
Pakistan is one of the leading countries in the field of military equipment, and its army is also on the list of the strongest armies in Asia in 2023.
The Haider tank was recently unveiled in the presence of General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, and other military officials of the country in an area located in eastern Pakistan.
Tank construction with cooperation from China
The Haider tank, which is considered one of Pakistan's indigenous military equipment, can be considered a turning point in Islamabad's efforts to develop these military assets.
In fact, by unveiling this tank, Pakistan showed that defense innovation in this country is developing and excelling.
General Munir has also previously announced cooperation between Pakistan and China and has stated that one of the reasons for strengthening the power of the country's military production is the entry of advanced technologies from the Chinese army.
Iran's Pavilion at the Exhibition
The delegation of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Brigadier General Dr. Mojtaba Ramezanzadeh, as well as Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam and Iranian Consul General in Karachi Hassan Noorian, also attended this international event.
This is while the pavilion of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been set up for the first time at the largest international arms exhibition in Pakistan with the aim of showcasing the country's military achievements, including indigenous industries in the fields of defense, aerospace and electronic warfare.
While visiting the Iranian pavilion, the Pakistani Defense Minister considered the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Karachi International Arms Exhibition valuable and emphasized: "We in Pakistan are proud of Iran's defense and military development and achievements."
