Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The ministry announced in a statement: "Units of the Vostok Group of the Russian Army succeeded in taking control of two towns in Donetsk, and this action was taken as a result of a successful military operation."
The two towns, named "Makarovka" and "Leninsky" in Donetsk, are now under the control of Russian forces, according to the Novosti news agency.
The Russian Defense Ministry also announced that its troops targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure used by the Ukrainian armed forces, an airport infrastructure, and workshops for the production of drones.
"Operational and tactical aviation, attack drones, missile forces and artillery units of the Russian Armed Forces targeted the energy infrastructure of Ukraine used to support the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the infrastructure of a military airport, production facilities. Drone storage sites, as well as concentrations of enemy manpower and equipment in 165 areas were also targeted," the ministry said in a statement.
