The officials of the Department of Environmental Protection of Badakhshan province say that in connection with the killing of a brown bear collar by 5 residents of Sheki district, they have followed up this issue through the relevant departments and an order has been issued to arrest these people.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Qari Faizur Rahman Ebrahimi, head of environmental protection of Badakhshan province, says that the case of killing a brown bear in Dargak village of Shaki district of this province is being seriously pursued. According to him, violent and arbitrary actions against wild animals are against the laws and regulations of wildlife protection.
He added that the local authorities of Sheki district have been ordered to track and arrest the people who killed the bear.
Qari Ebrahimi stated that the security forces have been sent to the area to arrest the perpetrators of killing this bear and these people will be handed over to judicial institutions to be prosecuted.
The head of environmental protection of Badakhshan province asked all officials, agents and the general public not to act on their own in dealing with wild animals and not to harm them. According to him, we all have a responsibility to protect the environment and the zoo.
It should be mentioned that a few days ago, 5 residents of Sheki district of Badakhshan brutally killed a brown bear and took pictures of its body and published it on the internet.
