The heads of the Islamic countries emphasized on the immediate cessation of the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza and Lebanon
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The second emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League aimed at stopping the war in Gaza and Lebanon was held today, Monday, in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with the presence of officials from more than 50 countries.
Mohammad Reza Aref, the Vice President of Iran, emphasized the immediate cessation of Israel's crimes in Gaza and Lebanon and said: In such a situation, we Islamic and Arab countries have a heavy responsibility and we must take an effective and collective step.
The first vice president of Iran added: Our effective step should follow the following three goals: stopping the crimes of the occupying regime, taking the necessary measures to ensure that these crimes do not repeat, and properly compensating the damages caused to the people of Palestine and Lebanon due to the crimes of the occupying regime.
Meanwhile, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad called the Israeli regime's crimes barbaric and said: "The Zionist regime's Nazi-like actions in the region have the constant support of the West." Last year, we talked about Palestinian martyrs and millions of displaced people in Palestine and Lebanon. There was an Arab peace initiative, but the crimes continued.
Assad added: We met again in Madrid to establish peace, but it did not happen. This shows that the approach is wrong and we are wrong in the tools we have.
The Syrian President stated: We talk about peace, but the Zionists kill. Tools and results must change. Therefore, the mechanisms must be changed, not to continue what was before and did not benefit.
He also said: How should we implement the requests to achieve the expected results? We must determine the mechanisms and goals. We must make dreams come true.
Assad further noted: Let's not only talk about the rights of the nation and Palestine. What is the use of these words, when Palestinians do not have the right to live. In order to achieve the rights of the Palestinian nation, we must take action to end the crime and killing.
At the same time, Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of the interim government of Lebanon, referring to the preservation of unity in Lebanon, said: Lebanon stands on the basis of the Taif Agreement, which was supported by Saudi Arabia. Lebanon is an independent and Arab country that still adheres to the Arab League and the United Nations and is one of its founders.
He also added: Israel's aggression has caused a lot of human damage to Lebanon. More than 3,200 people were martyred in Lebanon, of which more than 700 are women and children. We had 7,000 wounded, of which more than 4,000 were children.
The Prime Minister of Lebanon noted: In a very few hours, several million people were displaced and our internal situation is in crisis. The financial damages were more than 8 billion dollars, 3 billion of which was the destruction of 100 houses. No government can tolerate this situation.
Mikati added: "No one can disturb our population and the unity of Lebanon." I want you to help Lebanon in various ways as you have done so far. I ask the countries of the region and the world to respect Lebanon and consider it a society with different strata and not interfere in its internal affairs.
On the other hand, in this meeting, the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, emphasized that we witness the killing of children and women in Gaza every day, and said that there is only one way for security and stability, and that is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
He also added: We must help the Lebanese army and people against the regime, we demand a ceasefire in Lebanon, Egypt will accept full responsibility for peace.
Sisi said: "The future of the region and the world is at a crossroads, and encroachment on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon is no longer acceptable." A necessary condition for achieving security and stability is the creation of a Palestinian state within the borders of 1967 with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Egyptian president added: We will stand against all plans aimed at destroying the Palestinian cause. We emphasize the need for a ceasefire in Lebanon and the full implementation of Resolution 1701.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani also said: One year has passed since the events of October 7 and some are pretending that this operation was the beginning of the war and deliberately ignoring the decades of aggression and occupation by the Zionists.
He added: "Palestinian people are the owners of the rights and land of this country, and no one has the right to make concessions or agreements on their behalf."
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, in his speech at the extraordinary meeting of Arab and Islamic heads of states, emphasized that the international community could not take action to stop the killings and end this war of aggression.
Emir of Qatar added: What is happening in Gaza is a danger on all levels. We ask how long the international community will continue to treat Israel as if Israel is beyond international law.
